What is RFID?
RFID is a non-contact method of using radio frequency within the electromagnetic or electrostatic spectrum to communicate information between remote components.

Benefit is derrived from the ability to communicate unique identification data by storing data using devices called RFID tags (transponders) and remotely retrieving such data using reader devices (antenna with transceiver). RFID is increasingly being used in industry as an alternative to the traditional bar code. Innovative applications for this technology continue to emerge as the advantages of RFID are realized. Such advantages include data capacity, read/write capability, and no line-of-sight requirements.
